My previous layouts were trying many different approaches to search for the right feeling to express the essence of Tender Buttons. I finally decided on a layout that represents the infinite amount of information and emotion in such a simplified object. I used random rectangular Lock-up layouts to mirror the information of the object's infromation trying to explode from its containment. It is very random and explosively expressive in the variation of weight, size, position and shape. the abstract block-like cubist forms repeat throughout the title page, contents spread, and somewhat, colophon page. I am still working on the information content for the contents spread and the colophon spread, but am sure of the layout approach.
