Visual Language: Jazz Inspiration, Eldar Djangirov

Here is my Inspiration for a Saul Bass look, a heavily tertiary palette of contrasting temperatures and a graphic Nancy Stahl or Craig Frasier illustration feel.

My type will be within the san serif realm to promote a contemporary feel that Eldars music evokes. The palette resembles what is shown, contrasting temperatures to exude a sense of old jazz meets new jazz. I feel that the traditional jazz that Eldar has preserved and has incorporated with his youthful urban approach is represented well with most of Saul Bass's graphic style of contemporary urban city-like forms and the contrasting temperature palette will work in harmony to represent the new jazz and old jazz co-existing with each other. This approach = Urban, upbeat, swing jazz is slowed down and savored by casual colors & tones, and simplified harmonic rhythm through a graphic look. Taking the essence of forms from his early Soviet Home, I've chose some traditional Soviet propaganda posters in some of my inspiration to connect pride and history.

  1. Be more explicit in how and why you believe these styles connect specifically to your content. Connect this to the research on your musician.
